Our mission is to provide a warm, nurturing, child centered and family oriented environment where your child will enjoy the process of learning how to dance as well as the joy of preparation, practice and performance. The skills and confidence acquired during this process will carry over to all aspects of life. In order to offer all students and their families an organized, safe, friendly and positive experience, we ask that you review the following FAQ with your child to be sure DCDC is the right place for you.

 

 

Policies

What is your placement philosophy

As each new session begins, we evaluate the technical skills of our dancers to assess their level of proficiency. We believe every student should be challenged without being overwhelmed. Our professional expertise will ensure maximum progress and enjoyment of the class for everyone.

What if my dancer needs to miss class?

Regular attendance is important not only to the progress of your child, but to the entire class. Interest is kept when there is progress and development. Irregular attendance slows both. Please Be Prompt…Prepared… Practice. Make-up classes are available with any class of the same level, any time there is an absence or extra help is needed.

What is your refund policy?

DCDC has a NO REFUNDS policy on any tuition, fees or payments of any kind. 10% Late Fee applies to any overdue account. There is a $40 Return Check or Denied Credit Card Charge.

What about inclement weather and studio closings?

We follow Montgomery County Public School and After School Emergency Closings. We do not cancel class for every MCPS holiday. Please see the “Calendar of Events” for more information. For questions regarding emergency closing, download our app. You can also check our status on Facebook and Instagram.

Uniforms

What should my dancer wear?

Uniform leotard, tights and shoes prepare us for dance class and help us look and feel like a team. Students are expected to arrive in appropriate dance attire with hair in a bun. Preschool students must have hair pulled back and away from face.  Full Program students are expected to be in uniform by October 1. There are no uniform requirements for students enrolled in our Sampler Program, Adult classes or Hip Hop.

DCDC is always seeking talented and qualified full-time, part-time and substitute instructors to bring the best training in Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Musical Theatre, Conditioning, Leaps and Turns, Pom Technique, Creative Movement, Ballroom, Floor Barre, Stretch and Acro to their students.

We are here to help. Emails us at info@dcdcdance.com and we will get the answers you need. Office hours are Monday-Friday 2:00pm to 7:00pm and Saturday from 9:30am to 2:00pm. We are available in person, by phone or by email. If you should reach our voicemail at any time, please leave a message. My daughter is receiving so much more than a dance education at DCDC. She is learning many skills that will help her throughout her life, such as perseverance, dedication, teamwork & discipline. She has gained a beautiful confidence that I don’t think I would have been able to give her.
